A first for my garden: a Western Bearded Dragon Pogona minor
This one was about 10″ long (25cm) — most of which was tail!

IN MY GARDEN TODAY: A DRAGON!! — 8 Comments
I had one of those in my garden in Caboolture – he lived next door and had only come into our yard because next door was looking after a dog for a few days. I thought it was a stick at first but when I went to investigate it puffed itself up and made its way behind the shed.
We do have the Blue-tongued goanna as well — which is fat and stumpie-tailed. And it really does have a blue tongue! I came across its cast-off skin the other day, but I don't see it very often.

I love dragons but I love stumpies even more!
Never seen one of these before. Interesting little critter. What is a stumpie?
I might have seen one of those in pet stores, never in my yard. My kids would love it.
Jo said you had dragons today! Looks like a friendly chap.
And you're a fantasy writer? Cool.
Liz, they are Australian. Alex. they are great fantasy novels too. Highly recommend them.
