Review time in the US

With The Last Stormlord out in the US, the bots are trolling for reviews and here is the first one they found, from Stefan Raets. The whole review can be found here on Fantasy Literature, which has to be one of best and most comprehensive review sites around. A lot of work is put into this site, and it shows.

Anyway, here’s a couple of extracts from the review:

Sometimes you find a fantasy novel that’s not extremely original, but is so much plain fun to read that you just can’t help but love it. The Last Stormlord by Glenda Larke is one of those books

…this novel is easy to love. With its smooth storytelling style that should go over very well with fans of Brandon Sanderson, and an overall theme — water shortage and conservation — that’s acutely relevant in today’s world (how rare in a fantasy novel!), The Last Stormlord is a tremendously entertaining read that’s easy to get sucked into, hard to put down, and never boring. Recommended.

I am still waiting for the first review or email from Australia or…anything… about Stormlord Rising.

  1. I'm kinda irked because I pre-ordered on Book Depository for Stormlord Rising (didn't feel like waiting till August here in the US) and instead of getting a shipping notify I got a notification it was out of stock and they would notify me when it was back in stock (which, from past experience with The Last Stormlord will be never for the UK edition). grrrr…

however I'm going to pick up my US copy of The Last Stormlord on Tuesday!

  2. more than likely. they tend to get me everytime. first the fuyumi ono book I wanted from Japan, then the Korean novel…grrr…I'm gonna go black market on these guys Glenda. I dislike being parted from my books!

  3. I wonder if you could get around it by going direct to book store in the country of origin and asking them to post. Won't be as cheap as the book depository though.

  4. I tried ordering Stormlord Rising from Dymocks but the online system wouldn't accept my street address. So back to plan A – asking a friend to send me a copy.

  5. I'm up to chapter 14 of Stormlord Rising and totally absorbed by plight of the three main characters.

Excellent reading so far and I am chafing to get back to it.

  6. I am green with envy – a friend in Sydney is going to buy it for me but it will take a week or two for me to receive it.
