Yes you are right, we should be very ashamed of ourselves. I know once upon a time I didn't think twice about where I put my garbage, these days we have learned to be very careful, but unfortunately, not everyone is sufficiently aware and other than posting these pictures where everyone can see them, I don't know how we get people to take notice. Maybe major TV coverage would work.
In NC they have displays in their Aquariums of the garbage found on the local beaches and that too is pretty horrifying although it has not yet been consumed by anything.
That is heart-breaking.
