UPDATE …News

I haven’t written a post for a long time…mostly because people don’t read blog posts anymore. But anyway, I have some news about my latest book, so here goes, and maybe someone will come across this…

My latest is “The Tangled Lands” and it was published last year by Wizard’s Tower Press. It has just been short-listed for the DITMAR award, which is determined by popular vote of active SFF readers who have a connection to Conflux or fandom. (If you are eligible and have enjoyed the read, you know what to do…)The result will be announced on 7th October at Conflux, Canberra’s annual speculative fiction convention. Wish I could be there, but that’s not going to happen, alas.

  1. Unfortunately I was not eligible to vote, but I loved ‘The Tangled Lands’ and would have if I could have. I was hoping to see you might have another book in the works or even published… as I have time on my hands in the next few weeks and was checking out my favourite authors to see if there was anything new.

I haven’t read the mirage makers series lately (just re-read Isles of Glory series) so I’ll have to make do. (and will be happy to :))

    • Hi Mac, thanks so much for the message! I’m afraid that The Tangled Lands is my last book (No.14) and there won’t be another — I really have truly retired. To be absolutely honest, I never thought I would stop writing, but after finishing The Tangled Lands, I found there simply was no other story waiting to be told. I have my 80th birthday soon, so I guess it is about time… As far as I know, all of my books are still available somewhere or another. Thank you so much for your message; it’s lovely to know that you have enjoyed reading my stories more than once! All the best, Glenda.

      • Such sad news Glenda! Your stories have brought such wonderment & solace to my life. The strength & softness I’ve come away with after each book- which often depicts achingly resilient female protagonists- has helped me through my rough beginnings & gave me bravery I could not have imagined alone. My deepest gratitude & dearest respect to you. Beyond words. Bless your days x

        • Thank you so much! I am deeply moved to know that I have been a help to a reader. There can be no words more satisfying and encouraging for a writer to hear. And I have loved every moment of story telling; yes even the exasperation of deleting and re-writing! It has been a joy to tell stories, especially to someone like you who has benefited in a way beyond the entertainment. Thank you for letting me know. Hugs, Glenda.
