WHICH WOULD YOU BUY, JUDGING BY THE COVER?

The difference between Australian, French, German, UK, Russian, US covers of the same book:

The marketing people don’t seem to care that they might be misrepresenting the product (which would, one would think, lead to a dissatisfied customer who is not going to come back to that author again). All they want to do is sell the book. That seems short-sighted. I’d love to know what readers think.

WHICH WOULD YOU BUY, JUDGING BY THE COVER? — 6 Comments

  1. I love your books and am looking forward to the next one!

I prefer the original paperback cover art; I am not a fan of the ebook covers.

  2. I love the Australian copy, which is the one I bought purely on the strength of it’s aesthetics and blurb. As a woman who loves sci fi and fantasy I hate covers like the 3rd (French I think?).
Thank you for The Isles of Glory! I’m looking forward to discovering more of your work.

    • Thank you! And I agree with you — the Australian one. It incorporates all the elements of the book…and it was done by a professional artist! I have the first print on the wall above my desk.

  3. The first one and the last one. These are by far the most eye catching covers. The last one I believe is the original paperback cover? And it just has that lovely 90s painterly aesthetic.
