And whose bright idea was it to put a pay and display sign just where it would ruin every photo? |
I’m always impressed by institutions that date back before the Brits even reached Australia…especially if they are just pubs!! |

Glenda, I envy you the visit. My brother and I were supposed to go to Scotland in the early summer last year. A back to the roots visit again and partly to celebrate his 40th birthday. Unfortunately, he died before we could do it.
That traffic light made me laugh. I'm assuming it was a caution light for boaters? Did you find out why they had there?
I know, its a funny place to put a traffic light isn't it?
Lovely pix once more Glenda.
What a lovely place! I'll bet it was very cold, though.
I don't know that side of the country at all. When I was working in Braemar I didn't get any farther east than Loch Ness. Maybe one day!
Yep, it was cold. And beautiful. The traffic light was actually for a oneway hump-backed bridge crossing a stream that fed into the lake.
Satima, Inveraray is west of Loch Lomond…
Sia – that's very, very sad. Don't leave it too late for yourself! There are some things one ought to do in life…
Lovely photos. I didn't get to Scotland although I lived in the UK for a while so I'm currently trying to persuade my husband that it would be a good idea – not too successfully at the moment, I have to add. Maybe I'll have to go by myself now you've inspired me.
