Wow, that is some interesting information about the robbery. I believe you, but it is hard to believe things are that bad somewhere. Hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon.

I used to visit Malaysia when I was working in Bangkok about 12 or 13 years ago. It didn't seem to be so bad then. I am sorry to hear that it seemed to have gotten worse!

Sorry to hear about the robbery although I am glad it wasn't more serious. Very odd it should be the Malaysian males, from everything you write, they've never had it so good, they don't seem to be accountable for the way they treat women, maybe they feel guilty and turn to drugs. Yes I realise its not everybody.
