					<description><![CDATA[I also grew up with the cold war and the escalating military one-upmanship. There was the Cuban Crisis, missile silos, stealth bombers, Siberian gulags and the general misery of oppresive communism within the CCCP.

Then came the first signs of the roll back with the success of Polish Solidarity movement and our hearts lifted.

Then came the fall of the Berlin wall with joyous reunion of east and west Germans. 
It was like the first breath of fresh air taken since the end of WW2 and a highly emotional time.]]></description>
