Actually there is a small confusion between "Braise" and "Braisé". The first one means "embers" whereas the second means, as Glenda said, "braised". So it doesn't sounds so much like a rare steak ;o)

And "sales draps" is not as "uncorrect" as "deep shit", a closer translation would be "deep trouble".

And is Australia not the country of kangaroos ? ;o)

It does seem that's the closest equivalent of dans de sales draps, doesn't it? (cf. a discussion here) It was also applied to Stefan Schumacher by sports.fr last month, so Blaze/Braise is in good company, heh.

I imagine it's akin to our saying: 'Don't wash your dirty linen in public'.

But pays des kangourous? Gotta love the French, clearly they don't give a pffft about the PC thought police. :D

Oh, and can anyone tell me what “sales draps” means in this context? I am assuming something along the lines of “deep shit”?
