Glenda, there is a similar place in the Gold Coast hinterland called Mount Tambourine. There is an eco-tourism place called O’Reilleys Guesthouse.

Certainly one of the places I’d like to visit. 🙂 Highland areas were among the places I considered going last trip, but then my KL-dwelling travelling companion opted for the Singapore jaunt instead.

I wish I could visit. The pictures you post of Malaysia are fascinating and we both love to watch birds. Alas there are so many places in the world I would like to visit and not much time any more to do so. Not much wherewithal either unfortunately. I am glad something is being worked on at least Glenda, if not resolved.

Beautiful! I need to visit! I suppose it's the familiar quandary though: if too many people wanted to go, the tramp of humans passing through would destroy the peace and harm the environment; too little interest, and governments and greedy people will dream up other ways to exploit it. :(

Shame that the area has become so depressed. Is there any hope that promoting eco-tourism for foreign visitors would help revive the place?
