You need to give the flavour, not the full 3 course meal, when it comes to incorporating research into the narrative. Choose your highlights carefully so you paint a vivid picture without halting the momentum. It’s fiction, not an academic lecture.

And timely reminder about checking facts — Wikipedia, for eg, is notorious for being inaccurate with no checks and balances on the truth of the entries.
