Popped over to your site, Simon – lots of good things there, as usual. What you describe actually sounds a bit more like my copy edit. I think I had something like 300 questions in my first copyedit! I just about died. [More about that soon]

With the editorial edit, the aim seems, with my pubishing house, more to be to get the big things right. The structure mainly, followed by anything that struck the editor as puzzling with regard to the story. She has such faith in my copyeditor [who is superb], she leaves all the rest of the little things up to her.
