There were times when I used to do all the work on the roof – tossing leaves out of the gutters, fixing the aerial etc. But not any more. I wonder why – when I now climb a ladder – the ground looks further away than it used to?

There’s nothing here to steal, and anyway I’d welcome the opportunity to remove a robber from this world. Either way’s good for me, an honorable exit, or the world will not miss another robber. And yes my roof leaks too, but then this house is twenty years old, and I fixed it myself.
