It is 2024, and I just found this website while looking for information on birds of S.E. Asia. I lived in Singapore from 1974 - 1976 and was privileged to go on several nature trips with Dennis and Ken Scriven. Dennis will not remember me or my husband, who worked at the American Embassy in Singapore. On a hike with Dennis in Taman Negara, we heard the WOW WOW call of an Argus Pheasant. That was 50 years ago, but the magic of that moment remains. I am thrilled to read that Dennis is still leading people like me into the jungle. Thank you, Dennis!

I would just like to convey my message of respect, for i am in awe of such an inspirtional individual such as Dennis Yong- for the tiresome, under-acknowledged and incredible work he has dedicated his life's worth to- the education, conservation and preservation of nature. He is an incredible individual whom i wish i had the incredible oppurtunity to meet and one who should be a role-model to aspring naturalists and conservationists as well as to ordanary people alike- for that i salute his endevours although i have not met the man personally, however his work has inspired me to care more for nature and also do my bit to protect it- god bless
